Artist/Dancer/Choreographer
Sydney Foley is a twenty-five year old from Chicago, IL. She began dancing at the age of three through the Chicago Park District. Growing up, Sydney trained at Extensions Dance Center under the direction of Lizzie MacKenzie. She also attended numerous summer programs, including Hubbard Street and River North Dance Chicago. Her first two professional opportunities occurred in 2011, Sydney danced for the WNBA with the Chicago Sky and in 2016, she was chosen to perform in Ron De Jesus' "The Osiris Legend."
Sydney attended Marymount Manhattan College in NYC where she graduated Magna cum laude with a BFA in Dance and a concentration in modern ('22). During her time at Marymount, Sydney worked with Peter Chu, Andrea Miller, Lone Kjaer Larson, Adam Barruch, Kim Craven, Katie Langan, Pedro Ruiz and many more. She was accepted into the "MMC Dance Company," a year long "Residency," for the 2021-2022 season and was able to present her own choreography ("OCD") in Dancers At Work Fall 2021. During school, Sydney had the opportunity to join Dance in the Parks as an apprentice in Chicago, IL for their 2019 season.
Currently, Sydney is a freelance artist in New York City who has performed for CoreDance Contemporary, Alison Cooke Beatty Dance Company, 32nd Pack Dance Company, Augie Sherman, The Hole Story: A Docu-Cabaret, Ballaro Dance Company, Threads of Truth, and Six Degrees Dance Company. She has performed in works at The Tank, The Chain Theater, GreenSpace Fertile Ground Showcase, GreenSpace Take Root Showcase, The Mark O'Donnell Theater, APAP Dance Showcase at New York City Center, Dance Parade 2025, Windhover Performing Arts Center, Versatility Dance Festival, and WestFest Dance Festival.
